How do i take care of my Posé Posê rug ?

The rugs are hand tufted in 100% New Zealand wool. It is a high quality product that can last for many years if you make sure to take care of it.

To ensure the best preservation of your rug vacuum it regularly, not less than once a week. In the first months the rug will be loosing individual fibers which is a natural process. During this period vacuum it more frequently. Vacuuming is the easiest and most environmentally friendly cleaning method.

In case of stains and spills:

Debris: For the best results, remove the dry stains immediately. We recommend scraping the stain towards the center and then vacuum cleaning the remainings. Take care not to damage the fibres.

Light spills: Remove spills by carefully laying kitchen roll on the spill. Then use lukewarm water and a cloth or a sponge. Dampen the stain, soak up the water, then repeat the process until the stain is gone. Do never rub the stain as that makes it more difficult to remove, and can also damage the fibres

Wet stains: Remove wet stains by carefully laying kitchen roll on the stain. Immediately surface wash with natural wool detergents, do it gently and not rub as this can cause damage to the fibers. Sponge thoroughly to remove all traces of the cleaner, so that the fibres can regain their natural properties. Do not use too much water. Dry on a flat surface.

Heavy cleaning:  We recommend that the rug is cleaned by a professional cleaner.

The front side of our cushions is made of hand tufted cotton yarn. Therefore, it can not be machine washed or dry cleaned as this can affect the glue and latex which hold the yarn in place. For day to day maintenance, you can turn your cushion upside down and carefully beat the reverse side, so that the loose debris drops out.
